Visiting the Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsman in person

Initiating a matter

Our website contains electronic forms, electronic forms that you can use to complain to the Parliamentary Ombudsman. Read more about the processing of personal data when you make a complaint electronically.

However, it is also possible to initiate a matter by bringing the documents to the control room at the main entrance to Little Parliament (Door F, Arkadiankatu 3) between 9.00 and 16.00).

To visit the Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsman, an appointment must be made in advance. The name of the person arriving, their organisation, time of arrival, possible time of departure, and the name of the contact person receiving them is forwarded to the access control point located in connection with the visitor entrance to the Parliamentary Office. As the controller, the Parliamentary Office processes personal data for the purposes of organising the guest reception services, preparing for rescue operations and access control. To read more about the processing of personal data in the visiting services of the Parliamentary Office (in Finnish), go to Parliament's website.

When the visit is related to a matter that will be initiated or a pending matter, a record of the visit is made in our case management system. Read more about the processing of personal data related to consideration of matters within our competence.

As the controller, the Parliamentary Office records videos without sound and, in connection with door cameras, also with sound, of persons moving around in properties managed by Parliament or in their vicinity in order to protect the operation of Parliament, to supervise the use of the premises, and to protect the personnel working in the premises, visitors to the premises and its property.
